GIFT AID

If you do not use the Gift Aid scheme and would like to benefit our churches by 28 pence in every £1 given then please contact Roger Moss for Goetre 01873-880534 / email or Sarah Symondson for Llanover 01600-860520 / email.

All that is required is a form filled in which is kept on our files until you tell us to remove it, we do not need to know any personal information and you have no contact with HM Revenue & Customs.

Gift Aid Declaration forms are available to print from our web site. If you are not sure whether you can use the scheme the following is for your guidance.

Do I pay tax? - Paying tax is not necessarily a tax bill - you may pay tax in a way that you hadn't realised, for example, a company pension where the tax is usually taken out before you receive it (called PAYE), savings interest, tax is taken out by the bank or building society before you receive it as it's paid net, (unless you have filled in a form to have tax paid gross). This is all tax paid by you and the church being a Registered Charity is therefore entitled to claim the tax back on your behalf on all donations that you give to us, providing you have paid the amount of tax which we claim back in any financial year and you fill in the form giving us permission to claim back the tax on any donation you give to us. Its as simple as that!

Gift Aid is so easy to use, it costs the donor nothing, is completely hassle free, there are no forms to fill in after the first, no annual signatures as there was with covenants, no dealings with HM Revenue & Customs, - but a great benefit to our churches, it is money that the chancellor has given to charities like ours - the money is there for the asking - lets not waste it.
